CD rom messed up

    CD rom messed up

So, I was sitting on the computer this other day, and as usually it freezes, this is normal for me now, and I'm rather used to the f**ked up freezing every 10 minutes (really anoying, but not the problem).

So the computer froze, and as I was to reboot it, it was saying that "An Unknown error occured, 0xc00000001".

So I rebooted, same problem. I tried resetting BIOS, same problem. I took out the battry-thingy, and started, same thing.

So I researched a little, and it seems only way to repair this is to insert the vista cd, and repair Windows.

    Well, here is the problem!

As I was going to do this, I clicked tab, f8 and booted from CD, with the vista (ultimate) cd inside. I'm waiting for the usual "Click a key to boot from CD". This never showed up.

So I checked if the cables were in the motherboard, and if it got power. Which it did.

I went into BIOS, and checked if the BIOS had connection, and if my DVD room where certified (or something). The BIOS found the CD/DVD room, and I went to reboot again.

    Same problem.

    Anyone have a major tip?

I have tried with different CD-rooms, but same problem everywhere.

Please, I really need it to work:/

(BTW, I didn't know which topic this was going under, but since it was vista in the first place, what the heck)

Yes, this is a repost from my other one.

First off a regularly freezing computer is more than an annoyance.

It is symptomatic of a major hardware or software fault and as such should not be ignored nor considered "not the problem".

That being said can you verify that your BIOS Boot Priority has the DVD set prior to the HDD?

    Thanks

    It worked

but, I know, freezing sucks, I was in a sarcasmic mood...

Do you know how I can track hardware errors which causes the freezing?

    It's not heat, nor software.

Got any idea how to find out?

A total freeze requiring a manual shutdown is usually heat; a bad driver; bad hardware.

How can you say it is not heat?

Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card?

Do you know if you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

Have you run the manufacturers diagnostic on your hard drive?

I ran an overheating program, some picture came up, my computers graphic card and motherboard went to max 65 Degrees celcious.

I have the latest driver for my graphic card.

Where can I find the latest BIOS for my motherboard? It's an p5n-D.

Where can I find this manufacturer diagnostic ?

    thanks for help^^

Who is the manufacturer of your hard drive?

If you do not know look in the Device Manager:

right click My Computer then Properties then Manage then Device Manager

    + Disk Drives

Sorry for being lazy on response.

So you want to know who produced the disk drives or hard drives like?

Just copy+paste that stands when I open the +Disk drives ?

Yes. What is listed under: + Disk Drives?

Also have you opened the case and verified that it is clean of dust creatures?
