Angry Lights on But nothing there

I have a catouloge of disasters and to say I am geed off would be an understatement. The latest is my home build PC (of witch I am very proud, it is my baby). I had an error message come up saying that there was a hardware problem attached to a USB and it then crashed out of Vista. I rebooted it with a Vista boot disc this could not complete the boot and the screen went blank. I turned it off disconected it from the mains, reconected back to the mains and booted it up. Power is on but nothing screen cannot find a digital signal and no BIOS. Any suggestions where I start

    Remove all peripheral devices.

Are your keyboard and mouse USB or PS/2?

If the former can you switch to the latter? Adapter etc.

    Does the computer BEEP?

    Reseat the RAM.

    Clear the CMOS.

    For starters.

There is a jumper on the motherboard which clears the motherboard memory (CMOS).

This sets the board to default and would clear most any BIOS issue.

I will download your manual if you want as the instructions will be in there.

Ok here is the manual on Clearing CMOS:

The first two images assume you have a jumper that was provided with the motherboard.

The third image is a workaround if you cannot find this jumper then do the battery step.

Hi jephree I have tried to run the PC all the fans are working, I have reseated the RAM, disconected all the connections except the video card and power re booted and still nothing. When it said in the manual about shorting out CMOS am I to electricaly short by connecting the two pins with a metal object if so for how long?
