What in the world do you mean by this? I've never heard of a dual mobo? "Seen people say that they do" what? You need to be clearer in your questions.

First, without a budget or intended purpose, I would never make specific recommendations, and anyone doing so would be irresponsible too, if expected to be taken seriously.

What do you mean by "dual" motherboard? Since that is not industry standard terminology, I can only guess, and I suspect it would be different from what you think it means.

the tyans are nice duals but you need to dich out some cash for them.....and you can run some of the older xp's yet with smaller prefomance....:dunce:

Assuming you are really talking about "dual-socket" motherboards, they all are expensive as they are designed for server applications. I agree that Tyans are good boards. SuperMicro has been a long time maker. ASUS makes a few, and it is hard to go wrong with Intel boards.

why get a dual socket board? Why not just get a dual core processor? Is that not good enough for you?

That's the question, of course - without knowing the intended use of this computer (or if "dual-socket" was what volona really meant), who knows what is good enough? In some cases, a server may do well with two Quad-Core CPUs - while that would certainly be overkill for a game machine or Internet surfer.

Anything said beyond here is speculation, until the OP comes back with some answers, and/or more questions.
