Theres no sound coming out my speakers.

I moved my computer the other day so i unplugged it all and cleaned it, I used a damp cloth to wash my screen and was careful not to get water anywhere. But when i set computer up again the speakers done have any sound, they turn on and iv tried another set which also has same prob. I have tried media player and music plays but no sound. i noticed when i unplug the speakers now to try other ones that there is a loud fuzzy noise when the metal plug touches the socket to plug them in. Im not sure if i have got water in the screen and this is why they have stopped workin or this is a software issue, any help would be greatly apprecaited its killing me havin no music to listen to when i tidy up, lol.

    Thanks

Was the cloth dripping water? If not, then I would suspect you did not reconnect the cables to the correct connection, or a connector was damaged (but not by water).

No cloth warm just damp, i tried to be very careful. I have tried another set of speakers i have same prob with them, the noise i mentioned when the plug touches the socket actually comes through the speakers. Thank You

I would not worry about the noise by just touching - but I would stop doing it. Any errors in device manager?

If you right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager, do you see any Red or Yellow error icons?

Are you 100% sure you have connected the speakers to the correct jack, and the speakers are powered on?

Is this on-board sound, or a card? You can tell by where you plug the speakers and microphone into the computer. If they connect to the rear-panel I/O area, the area in the back where the keyboard, mouse, and a bunch of other connectors are located, then it is on-board. If you connect in the "slot" area, then it is a card.

The speakers just plug into the back of the screen thats where they have always went.
