    Sound Card quick question

    Hi,

I recently build my own computer. And my motherboard comes with a integrated 5.1 sound. The surround system works, for the most part but the Front Right Speaker wont work. I have played with all the settings. The XP settings and the sound driver of the motherboard. And still it won't work.

And I have switched the speakers around, and I could confirm this because when I play games and use headphones straight out of the motherboard I dont hear any right side of the action of the game.

Now I'm considering returning the motherboard, or just buying a sound card, because I do not want to loose the computer for weeks while I get it back. now my question is.

If i buy a sound card, would this solve this?

It probably would - and would sound better too. But did you look on your motherboard maker's site for new drivers to your on-board sound? I would do that first.

^ yeah I'll try that later when I get home.

Does anyone know any good sound card brands?
