    However if you keep any documents on your desktop instead of in your documents folder those files are still on the drive that has windows on it. You can have windows reference another folder for this but that is tricky & involves editing the registry so I can help you to do that if you want me to but it doesn't matter if you don't keep anything on your desktop. Let me know.
    Be absolutely sure that any registry edit presented has been proven to work before you incorporate the edit into your operating system.

    I've done the same on my computer. It works & is safe if you know what you're doing.

    This is part of my point. Any directions provided must be fully clear and complete.

    Besides, there are programs on the web which will do this (relocate the Desktop folder) for you without the poster having to enter and edit the registry. I have one available for download if need be.
