All of I think of now is to try a cd drive cleaner. I had a problem with my computer [including XP ] not doing anything with any disc I put in it () so I used a drive cleaner and now it works. What this is is a disc with a tiny brush on it that brushes off the lens. Sorry but I can't think of anything else now but maybe someone else has something and will chime in.

Walmart, best buy, maybe staples/office depot, radio shack. Look in electronic or computer stores.

Its been almost a year and you are still having the problem? These days drives are cheap as long as you buy online. It's probably not worth putting more time into it.

yup for 1 year i didn't used the dvd. i don't really use it since there are external HD that like 500GB for mine file. i just want to know what happen and i want to fix it.
