    NAS gigabit setup question

Hello all, I have a gigabit NAS and gigabit NIC on my PC, but my wireless router is only fast ethernet. Having done a search it appears I can just get a gigabit switch which will give me full speed between the PC and NAS. I can't see how that can be it they still go through the fast ethernet router.

Anyone shed some light on this before I go out and purchase a switch?

In this case, use the faster gigabit switch and get rid of the slow Ethernet router, do not use both slow router and fast gigabit switch together.

For all other network parts you order, just make sure all fast gigabit capable.
This will avoid the bottleneck on your network.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply but I don't think that's going to be much help since I'd have no internet connection if the PC and NAS are networked via the switch only. Also having the NAS networked to the router allows other PC's to access the NAS wirelessly.
