Battery calibration

    Battery calibration

I have a Packard Bell Easynote E6, which is now reporting that the battery is flat. - But I do not believe it.
The battery meter showed the battery discharging quickly to a point where the computer would shut down. This has got progressively quicker and the charging also got progressively quicker. So I tested the battery. If I took it out as soon as the meter registered full and connected it to another appliance then it would not last very long. However if I left it connected in charge mode (Computer shut down) for a long time, say 24 hours, then removed it and tested it there was plenty of juice left (Enough to power 2 model trains for 8 Hours plus).
Returning the battery to the computer only went back to the same problem but progressively worse. Leaving on charge, shut down, for 24 hours would make no difference.
So I do not think the battery is faulty - it is the computers battery meter. There is supposed to be a down load from Packard bell to fix this (Battery Calibrate C2) but appears not to be on web site

    Can anybody help Please?

    Chris

Hi Chrisstrickland and welcome to D-A-L

have you tried a few cycles of charging and draining the battery?

can you put the laptop in power saving mode when using battery?
