i accidently unplugged these cables and i dont know where to put them i found out where i put them and i put them in a correct order but it still wont turn on. there are 7 pins where im supposed to put them in. i dont think thats right. my computer is an emachines T2542.

i think the motherboard number is MBEM100614IM

The only one that is critical is the pwr leads - the others just light the LEDs. You should be able to examine the motherboard front panel I/O connector and see how the pins are labeled.

That said, I tried to find a manual for your motherboard and cannot so I think you need to contact eMachines tech support. Unfortunately, there is no industry standard on how those leads or the connector are used, or even how they are labeled.
