    which laptop is better?

i'm not sure is this is the right place to post it but all opinions are welcome.

i'm getting a secondary laptop. for school and carrying around. will be doing stuff like word processing, web browsing and listening to music.

can u tell if these are good laptops and which ones better?

Good pretty much depends on what you wish to use the laptop for.

Not knowing that, at a glance the Acer Aspire One definitely seems better, even though the screen is slightly smaller than the MSI laptop, the 6 cell battery can definitely make your laptop last much longer compared to a 3 cell.

I've not seen MSI laptops lugged around by any of my friends, but I do have friends using Acer laptops and they generally complain about slight heat issues with the laptop. High laptop temperature, especially at the side of the keyboard area. So that might be something you want to check up on.

Since I'm not sure what you want to know about Wi-Fi, here's a general link for you.

thx for the wifi link. it cleared up a few things.
abt the heat thing. i did check it up. this acer runs a atom processor. most ppl say not much of a heat problem but more of a noisy fan.

you dont seem much of a fan of these two netbooks?
any recommendations? is the Asus EEE PC 1000H any better in your view?

Yo dude sorry to give you the wrong idea that I don't like the other two notebooks lol. I don't dislike, or like te notebooks, because I personally have not used them so I can't really support either strongly.

Specification wise, the Asus Eee PC seems to be the best. Good processor, decent RAM, hard disk and all. For me, a bigger screen is always better because I like big screens. However, if you're a frequent traveller looking for a light and portable laptop, a smaller screen like the Acer laptop might be better. Of course, to me 10 Inch is already pretty small as I lug around a 15inch 3.5kg laptop.

Also, does the price matter much to you? there's a difference of about 70 dollars perhaps? So it would depend also if you think that the difference in price is worth the difference in monitor size.

If you ask me, price aside, It's either the Asus or the Acer. Mainly for the part specifications (and I don't really mind the louder fan).

I think I might be able to recommend if you gave more details about what you want to use the laptop for and such. Perhaps your minimum requirements?

well, i'm okay with both 10 and 8. inch screens. fits in my bag either ways. for battery life i'm leaning towards the 6 cell.

for the other specs....i just need it for college. word processing, web browsing, listening to music, watch an occasional video..thats it.

i current have 1 GB RAM but on a 2.2ghz processor..not sure how much of a difference the 1.6 ghz would make.

HDD ...dont have much of a preference except it must have WIN XP installed..so around 80GB more or less.

    MUST have ethernet and wifi.

I suppose I could put in 70if it is better. which one are you thinking abt?

Most reviews on youtube abt netbooks are always mentioning the Asus Eee. But still most ppl cant gave a definite answer which is better. But always comparing against the asus. not sure if that says something

Are the reviews by people who have used it? Or are they just reviews about a product that they tested on for reviewing purposes? I know there was quite a hype when Eee came out cause it was small and new and fancy.

A review by someone who has used it for a period of time would be better.

Comparing a 2.2Ghz processor and a 1.6Ghz processor will be a little bit hard unless both of it has the same amount of cores and such. A single core 2.2 would probably lose out to a 1.6 in terms of multitasking. I used a 3Ghz single core previously but my 2.0 Core 2 Duo runs much better.

Now this is just my personal opinion, but after looking at your preferences and all, if it was up to me I would pick the Acer. The specifications of the Acer and the Eee are the same, and it's cheaper than both the MSI and Eee laptops. Not to mention a smaller screen would drain less battery, so you would probably (logically speaking) get more battery life out of the Acer laptop.

HOWEVER, watching movies on an 8.9 might be a tad small, depending on your own personal tastes.

Perhaps some other forumers (like Digerati, Rokytnji or Jephree) might drop by and give their opinions and help you more lol. Perhaps I can help you google around for more reviews in a day or two, as I'm currently having my exams I can't take the extra step to help you out.

p.s. I like how the Acer looks too. Lol!
    p.p.s. YES! An XP supporter!
