New Video card and old video card need help
Just got a new video card geforce8800gt alpha dog got it hooked up and computer detects it and installs the software but my mobo is an asus m2a vm hdmi and it's got an onboard chip when I disable it in the bios and have it set to pciex it doesn't work period not the onboard or the geforce what can I do?

I note on this page XFX recommends for that card a 500W or greater PSU for single card systems, 600W for SLI, and one 6-pin supplemental power connector.
Does your power supply meet those requirements?
-
Yes I have a cheifmax 650 watt power supply it's not in sli and now I finally got it to work and it works great runs all games but assasin's creed maxed out I mean it will run it but after about 2 hours it seems to lag a little.
Now most people talk about the fan being really loud and mine was for about a day and now it doesn't make any noise but the temp is only about 66c so I don't know if I should be worried that's why it's laggin or if I have only 1 gb of memory I have rivatuner and tuned it up to 80% fan speed.
and the card is warm to the touch sometimes so I'm not sure if I should be concerned.

I consider anything over 60°C hot.
-
so should I just run the fan at 100%?
-
You need to do what it takes to get the temps down, even if it means the fans are loud. Heat is the bane of all electronics.

It'll definitely hurt the card. There are some temperature monitoring software that also offers temperature control which you might want to consider getting. Of course, always do proper research and read through all the guides and opinions before you manually control your graphics card fan.
A software I used is RivaTuner. It's for the nVidia series card and it works pretty well

Card? What card? Is the CPU 66° or the graphics card?
-
that's what I've been saying it doesn't make the loud noise anymore should I be worried about it?
I meant will it hurt the card to run it at 100% all the time?
