I think my graphic card is either over heating or driver issue? When I playing COD4 or just having my computer standing still (screen saver running). I get a black screen so, I have to push in the power button to restart it. What I have is EVGA 8800 GTS 512 Video Card. Running on EVGA 780SLI MB. Is there a tool to dl that can tell me what my temp is for the computer or the Video Card? Thanks

That card will generally run @ 60c on the stock fan.
Do you have the latest drivers for the card?
Do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard?
What is your PSU?
I will have to check on the drivers.
I can tell you that I don't have the lastest BIOS. (should you always up the BIOS and if you do, do I have to update like one verison before I can update to another?)
My PSU is 700W I believe SLI ready.
Here is my PSU Jerphee:

Read the BIOS details and see if it applies to any problems you have.
On a board like yours there are many updates.
My 680i went thru 12 before it became stable.
The latest BIOS should overwrite all previous versions.

Hey Jerphee, I dl the lastest video driver for the card. Next, I made a floppy for my flash and one good thing about this MB is it has a nice program for updating BIOS. I hit "alt + F2" and it starts the updating the BIOS from the floppy but, then I get a error message "check sum errror." try dl a new file from the source again. Hmmm....do I have some memory errors?
Also, what key can you hit to slow down the start-up process so you can read one page at a time? I though it was "print screen" button? Thanks Jerphee
I'll look at your board in more detail but with mine I just Boot the Floppy and it is automatic from there.
The freeze button is Pause/Break
http://www.evga.com/support/drivers/...t.asp?switch=2The following drivers/files are available for your hardware and operating system combination.
Note: If you are having difficulties downloading the driver file, please make sure you completely disable any third party download managers.
Bios Version : P07
BIOS Date : 7/19/2008
Bios File : NF78_P07.bin (FTP / HTTP)
Notes : The following was updated in release P07:
DDR2-1066 stability improvements
Improve operation of SLI-Ready DDR2-1066 memory
Stability improvements for Kentsfield 1333 CPUs
Improve detection of several PCIe cards, including certain SCSI cards
INSTRUCTIONS: BIOS updating can be accomplished VIA one of the two below methods.
FLOPPY (Floppy Disk and Disk Drive Required)
Download the following executable: NF78_P07.exe
Insert blank floppy disk into drive and run executable
Restart machine, and set floppy as the primary boot device
Press "Y" to program BIOS
After flash, power off PC completely, on reboot load defaults in BIOS
I tried burning that ISO to a CD but, wasn't successful at doing it. For some odd reason, Nero failed writting it. I will have to try the Floppy and select that as my main boot device. I am at work now and will let you know tomorrow if that was good.
Sidenote: Jerphee if you are using a SCIS drive is there a way have not show as a removeable drive? Reason why I am asking a friend of mine don't want his kids truning if off by "safe remove hardware icon.?" ..
Thanks bro
Floppy is always best for a BIOS flash.
An ISO under Nero is considered a Disk Image. It cannot be burned as data. Just in case that was the case.
What type of drive is this SCIS drive?
There are many options where a computer Administrator can allow or deny access.
Depends on the Operating System and the way the accounts are setup.
The Safe Remove icon generally is visible when a USB drive is inserted.
Ahhh.. I think I was burning it as "data."
His drive is internal SCIS harddrive. I will get more information on this too Jerphee.
