Is C: your operating system drive?

Is it visible under Disk Management?

right click My Computer then Manage than Disk Management

Also try going to start > Run... cmd

What is the command line that appears?

I'm not sure what you mean by disk management. When I display My Computer the c drive is not there.

Sorry if this is tedious but it is a strange issue.

How is the C: drive described in Disk Management?

    e.g. System ; Healthy ; etc.

Also can you describe how this problem happened?

Is it a new problem? Was there a time when everything was Okay?

Did you add any new software or hardware?

Do you recall anything you might have done that might coincide with this problem?

Everyting was working fine earilier this weekend. I did install a wireless router. I did get a worning about an intrusive attack but I think the firewall stopped the attack along with my virus protection and spybot software.

Back in Disk Management can you right click C: (either in the upper list or lower graphic) and choose OPEN?

If so hit Tools on the upper toolbar then Folder Options

Here click Restore Defaults under General as well as View

If this does not help you might try a System Restore to the point prior to that router install:

    System Restore

You might try a System Restore to a point prior to your problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
