Hardrive conundrum
Another problem seperate to my other post.
I have a hard drive that i cannot use, when it comes to loading the OS it comes up with:
GRUB 1.5
GRUB error 22
The OS is Windows XP Media Centre SP3. Have tried making it a slave but still not much luck anything else i could do?

It sounds like that hard drive previously had Linux on it. You need format the drive first.

I recommend that you blank the disk to get rid of any Grub MBR stamps etc, and recreate new partitions. Then format the new partitions (FAT32 or NTFS).
If Disk Manager has trouble clearing the disk, and you have the ability to boot into the recovery console:

you can clear/blank a hard disk in one command. Adrynalyne's Corner of the Web: MKDISKRAW- The Quick Way to Delete a Hard Disk

Ok thanks. Can't really afford to wipe it till i get some of the information off it. I think it was dual booted with Ubuntu at some point....
I will keep trying but if i can't get it too work i will just have to wipe it.....i may bring out my trusty hammer for that.

I didn't realize from your post that there was data recovery involved. Download and make the UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD). It has tools on it which should allow you access to the disk and manipulate files.

Sorry that's me expecting everyone to be mind-readers.
Looked at the UBCD. Seems to have done the trick.
Thanks.
