Did you remove any internal USB (card reader) connections from the motherboard?

Also I would test your RAM:

    MemTest
    --------------------------------------------------
    Try running MemTest.

It appears "strange" that all was well until a Windows Update then all fell apart.

That being said you appear to have a hardware problem.

If the hard drive is throwing errors I would try to get that fixed. Again I would run the WDC diagnostic on it.

The BIOS is also curious. What process did you try? Were you flashing off of a floppy?

Well the issue with the update i may have not been clear on, it never acually installed until i went to safe mode, when i clicked restart my pc basically just went poof, and ill try that hard drive test later tonight. and sadly my memory is bad, but i do not have a floppy drive so it was not that way, when i get back to my pc i can re-do was i attempted and post it.

well i went and baught a new board was getting sick of that problem, this one atleast beeps at me and gives me the error numbers, its either, clock gen : init onboard clock generator and sensor, or video memory test : test video memory and siplay logos.

Also it tells me when i start up(it'll post) that its a different cpu and something and to change that in the cmos setup, but it will always shut off on me before i can do anything, any tips?

What is the make and model of the new board?

Which graphics card are you using?

    Have you tried both?

Well the CPU overheating is quite possible.

Anyway you have a nice motherboard and graphics card.

Hope your shop is a good one.

Let us know how it goes.

After all the trouble it ended up just being a monitor issue, i took my moms montior and tryed it on my pc and it worked fine, and oddly enough my monitor works fine on her pc, so now were both happy lol.
