Monitor display problem!!
Hello,
Today I purchased a Dell 1703FPs. I connected the monitor to my desktop computer and it seems to work properly (no dead pixels etc.) but something is wrong with the display.
It seems to be shaken ant the letters are displayed with a shade!
I downloaded and installed the drivers for the monitor but nothing changed!!
Then I updated the drivers of the graphics card but still the problem occurs!!
I also changed the resolution and the frequency (currently set as 1280x1024 @ 60Hz) but still no improvement..
Any idea of how i could fix this problem??
Could it be a faulty monitor??
Please help.. I have to submit my dissertation next week and I cant work with this thing!!

Did you try the settings on the monitor?
When you reloaded your graphics drivers did you uninstall the old ones first? This is very important.
If you did not go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall the drivers. Afterwards install the latest version.
If all else fails try the monitor on a second computer. If the problem persists across different computers then you might have received a bad monitor.

I haven't uninstalled the previous drivers of the griphics card.
Although I did what you told me, I uninstalled it and then installed the updated ones, but still the problem exists.
I also tried the monitor on a different computer and it worked just fine, so the monitor is not faulty.
Any other ideas??

I am trying to connect my Gateway PC to Dell or Compaq monitor but it cannot be detected.
What's the fault?
