Odd DVD-RW Drive Problem

Odd DVD-RW Drive Problem
I have a TSSTcorp TS-H653 DVD-RW Drive and there's this odd problem with it.
My OS is Windows Vista Home Basic.
It started when I tried to burn a bootable ISO onto a disc using WinISO, the burn process failed due to some kind of buffer error and the program said "Synchronizing Cache" then everything hung up so I just rebooted.
While rebooting, it loaded the OS that was halfway written on the disc so I removed the disc and rebooted again.
When I got back into Windows, the problems start appearing.
First, the drive can be seen in "Computer" but when I inserted a disc, ANY disc, blank or with data, nothing happened. I tried clicking on the drive in Computer and it didn't work either.
When I checked under Device Manager, nothing seems amiss!
I also tried to reburn the disc again and both programs I tried(WinISO and Roxio) crashed.
The ISO contains LiMP if that information is required.
I hadn't tested the drive in Ubuntu yet.
So is there any way to fix this problem?

Have you you tried acessing system restore and taking you vista o/s back to an earlier date before you downloaded and tried to burn iso?

If System Restore doesn't work...
Try one of these:
1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
or...
2. http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip
or...
3. Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
You'll see two items:
- ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel)
- ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel)
Right click on each of them, and click Uninstal. Confirm.
Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.

Nevermind, I reflashed the drive and it now works.
I didn't post that at first because the flasher is sitting there running but with no results.
I had to end task the flasher(Dangerous) and start it again to flash it.
Now it's fine.

Good. Thanks for posting back
