PC will no longer boot
Hi
I built my own pc and it's been working for around a month now. But when i moved it downstairs i could no longer boot it. All the fans were running but the motherboard did not beep and there's no ouput on my screen. I didn't drop it or bang it whilst i was moving it so i don't quite know how it could happen.
Thanks

Open your PC up and check that all power connectors e.g. Motherboard, CPU, Hard Disk Drives are connected properly.
Also check that the RAM is seated correctly. Remove it and then put it back in again.
Let me know how it goes.

No still nothing, i double checked everything tried, nothing.
Took efverything out put it back in and still nothing
I tested my ram, power supply and gfx card on a friends pc and they all worked fine. Could it be the processor or the motherboard?

Hi Quackers I am with Owen I think you have a lose connection somewhere I would disconect one by one all power conections and one by one reconnect. It must be something simple. I am no expert like most on this site and like you I built my PC, my next move would to take it to someone who is certified A+ technician for them to check the components.

Well , in my profession as a bike builder and repairer, when a bike won't start after being shut down and you move it foward a few paces and it starts and runs we call that " A bad spot in the Universe". If you shut down windows correctly and powered off computer correctly and followed all the rules as we know them then either its a Bad Spot in the Universe, a bad outlet, a bad surge protector, or worse comes to worse like you say its motherboard or processor although I can't see why the hell from your description it should be. I am running ancient sh_t here in the dust of west Texas and I've lost the occasional used hardrive with God knows how many hours on it and no problems like you are having and its usually over 90 degrees F here and windy and dusty.

i don't see how it could have gone wrong either. 1 minute it was working i shut it down moved it and next thing you know it won't turn on.

Did it used to beep? One beep is common when the BIOS POST clears.
In other words do you know if your board or case speaker works?
If you know it works or worked remove all the RAM and boot it.
It should certainly BEEP now.
If not and your board/case speaker does indeed work the motherboard itself is very suspect.
