Terratec Grabster AV400 MKII
Hi
Has anyone got a Terratec Grabster AV400 MKII ?
Am i right in saying they simply transfer your old videos from the old tapes and convert them to DVD format?
Thanks

I don't own this piece of hardware, but I've had a look at it, and in a nutshell, what you said is what it does.
It isn't limited to just video tapes, it can transfer video from any analogue source (most video players, dvd players, set top boxes, video cameras, etc have analogue outputs) to DVD.

Owen - how about this: http://www.serif.com/SerifExtra/Temp...631/8840/1.htm
I want it for a tape smaller than a VHS though, its slightly smaller size than an audio tape but thicker..
cheers

The Terratec device doesn't actually allow you to put a tape in, incase you have misunderstood what I've said.
As long as you have a player for your tape, such as a VCR for a VHS tape, a DVD player for a DVD, a set top box for television, etc that has analogue output (the red, white and yellow sockets, like the input sockets on the Terratec device), then the Terratec device will allow you to capture the video and put it on DVD.
The link you have given me for the Serif page doesn't work.

Hi
Just checked the link, right click and open and it does work.
Thanks for clarifying.

Doesn't work for me, get a 404 message. Whats the name of the Serif product you are referring too?

There is actually a newer improved version of VHS to DVD, VHS to DVD Deluxe 3.0.
However, I'd personally go for the Terratec device, I've always been a fan of Magix software and that is included with the device. I've had a look at reviews and it seems to be highly rated.
