On the Motherboard info it say version 1.0 but on the motherboard itself it say version 2.0.

Well my problem is no sound and no recorder in the drag to disc (Roxio)...
The sound is enable in the bios... and i have reinstalled the AC97 from the disc provided by the motherboard. I have delete the upper and lower filters in the registry. but still no sound. Am I missing something I don't know what else to do

any help would be greatly appreciated

If it is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem.

If that doesn't help remove any new hardware or software that might have coincided with the problem.

Try all the tests and options via: Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices.

I have done a system restore. I did the tests via the control panel/sounds and audio devices. Un the sound hardware test the meters show sound but no sound comes out via speakers. The speakers have been uses on another computer and they work fine. Also, in the sound abd audio devues properties/hardware/legacy audio drives...there are no multimedia devices in the property window.
one final thought would i be better off buy a sound card.
