Pyjama Party...
Hi,
Recently, and more frequently now, whenever I attempt to bring my laptop out of standby, hibernate, or even turning my computer on, the only thing that appears on the screen are a series of patterned, striped vertical lines that change in colour occasionally. If I connect the laptop to another monitor, it just shows the same series of vertial striped lines. I also tried swapping my hard drive with a friends, however my hard drive worked perfectly on his computer.
If I restart continuously (Force Shutdown) for around 20 minutes on average, it will start up normally and function completely normally.

Except on my laptop I have 1gb ram and Windows XP.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for you time =)
Edit: I recently got my screen cable replaced, no difference.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics drivers?

Did you have it serviced for this issue? If so was there no guarantee?
Is the computer still under warranty?

Yes, I have already tried reinstalling the graphics drivers, but to no avail >.<. The computer IS still under warranty, however I'd prefer not to send it in as this would cause certain inconveniences. However, if i'm unable to fix this by myself, I guess I have no choice
