I have an HP Pavilion tx1115nr (details in signature). I am experiment a lot, is it possible to image my hard drive and later restore it? I have an external WD My Book that I would like to store the image on. Is there bootable software that can restore my notebook HDD from an image on the external drive?

I use Symantec Norton Ghost v9.0
its pretty good, unfortunately I have to install the application and then do the image backup, but when I have to restore my computer, I insert the bootable Norton Ghost CD, and browse to my saved images and successfully restore my HD.
Another software which I know of is Acronis true image.
