I liquid cool my 2 x 8800GTX SLi. It brought the temps down from stock 60c to 40c
To Tell you the truth I havent wc'd my video card since my FX5500! LOL
I guess I could take the stock cooler off and just make some ram sinks for the ram modules and water cool just the graphics chip?
Yes that is what I did as seen here:
I did find later that they make full blocks that cover the GPU plus the RAM sinks as seen here:

Cool. Make sure the mount will work before you try it.
You can get those copper RAM sinks for like 8 for $4 I think I paid.
I applied mine with "Thermal Adhesive".
If you do this just from my experience removing the stock cooler is a bit tricky. Actually sticky.
The thermal compound on the GPU and all the RAM sinks tends to create a pretty tight "suction" affect.
It takes a bit of twisting and quite a bit of force to break the seal.
