Hi guys and girls,
I really hope someone can help me with an issue I have that is becoming expensive at $2 a DVD.

Background:
I have just bought a Samsung SH-W08 8X Dual DVD Writer +R and -R capable. I have a fairly up to date machine with 512MB DDR Ram, a 2Ghz AMD Chip, about 10Gig free HD space and XP. I am using +R 4.7Gig (120min) disks (random brand) (using Nero, the drive writes data DVD's perfectly) and I am experiencing the following problems:

Problem 1:
Using Intervideo's Win DVD Creator 2, writing SVCD quality Mpgs into a DVD format. The program goes through the process, formulates the DVD and writes it to the disk, and reports, "Burn Succesful" but the disk is rendered unreadable (got two coasters playing with that program) - Admittedly the first DVD I tried to write seemed to fit within the data limit of 4.5gig but the total playing time was over 2 hours. The second one I tried was a simple one with a very short 8min Mpg but the result was the same - unreadable $2 disk.
Any suggestions?

Problem 2:
(I have experienced this problem with my CD Writer as well) - If I ask Nero to write the DVD and finalize it, everything works perfectly, but if I ask it to create a multi-session DVD, it goes through the process and reports "Burn Successful" but returns an unreadable disk after seemingly stumbiling through the final phase (i.e. taking an inordinate amount of time). Any suggestions?

If you need more information, please let me know as I bought this Writer to make DVDs out of my Mpgs and that is precisely what I cannot do.

Thanks a stack
James
