    Acer Laptop help (motherboard battery)

firstly, hello to everyone, pleased to have found a place like this.
i hope this is the right place to put this thread, if not im sorry and could admin move it to the correct place?

i have had my acer aspire 5633 laptop now for about a year and recently its been losing time/date in windows. ive researched the problem and it seems to be the cmos battery on the motherboard?

my question is how do i find and replace the battery? i have removed the back panel where i thought it was but it is nowhere to be seen. please could someone help with this matter? i have taken a photo on the back if that helps in anyway.

    thanks in advance

A quick search shows this as a similar model. Do you see the battery as in this model?

It should just "pop out" and in.

    Fingernail should do it.

Well first off I was just guessing given the orientation of the bridges from the other example. Guess I guessed wrong.

I have searched your model online and it is mysteriously missing in ACER data.

Do you not have the manual?

    I will continue to search.

    I found this manual:

    ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/noteboo...%20(Vista).pdf

As to the CMOS battery only this:

CMOS battery bad Contact your dealer or an authorized service center.

Anyway on further review it is very rare that this battery would be "bad". They last for several years usually. In most cases they last the lifetime of a computer.

Does your BIOS time change? Do you get any errors on boot? CMOS errors?

Do you have Internet time synchronized in your Windows Time & date options?
