    I see that possibility but it is just a possibility.

    I can post the registry entries involved. You can also post a HijackThis log in our Security section for review if you like.

    Try these commands (one at a time) from Run... cmd

    W32tm /unregister

    W32tm /register

    w32tm /resync


    Then see if the time sticks.

    Also verify under Admin Tools > Services

    That Windows Time is started and set to Automatic

    thanks, have posted a hijackthis report in the security section. im looking in the admin tool, services now. what is the exact term im looking for? sorry im blind lol

    when i try to set it to automatic and apply it, it says " the specific service has been marked for deletion" and will not let me do it

    Wow.

    See what the Security guys say. Something has messed that up.

    You might want to add that info to your log.

    yes tried the command above it hasnt seemed to have changed for 30 mins, we shall see lol. i hope its not bad. thank you very much for your time and effort today. been a great help. so its defiantly not the battery would you say?

    No. If Windows Time is disabled that is definitely the problem.

    We need to know who disabled it and set it for deletion.

    If the security guys can't help we can try to edit the registry but let them look at it first.
