It should. That card needs to be plugged into the PSU directly.

yup. it worked :] thanks. but this leads me to my next problem. the reason i upgraded video cards was because i was getting these red thin lines across my screen! and i thought it was my video card and i guess its not. any ideas? i tried to take a screen shot of it but they dont show up on the picture

Not showing on a screenshot would further implicate the monitor itself.

Do you see the lines during the BIOS POST? What about Safe Mode?

Do you have another computer you can try the monitor on?
