I have two computers. Today one of the monitors popped, smoked, and went black. I purchased a new LCD to replace it. I took the CRT monitor that still worked and installed it in place of the one that smoked. It did not work. I put it back on the computer that it came from and it still will not work.

Is it possible the video card in the first computer took out the first monitor and then did the same to the second? I don't want to install another LCD monitor and have it smoked too.

It is very possible that the video card was damaged.

I find it hard to believe that the damaged video card would have damaged the second monitor.

Are you sure the connections are good?

Does it get power?

Does the power light come on at all? Amber? Green?

Anything such as "No Signal Input"?
