Toshiba laptop help please
I recently had problems with my old Toshiba Laptop. It didn't hold a charge and even with it plugged in the mains it would still randomly switch itself off. I switched it on and it came up with the message enter command prompt (or something like that) Using my mums laptop I made a backup disc and corrected all the faults. Now it boots up and then flashes up c:\
I have some important stuff on there which I'm convinced I've lost but I bought a 2.5inch to 3.5inch Hard Drive Adaptor

problem is I have no idea what to do with it/where to plug it in etc (its an old toshiba satelite laptop)
I am very untechnical and any help from you guys would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance!

After removing the laptop drive from the laptop you then connect it to an IDE channel on a tower PC.
I'd suggest temporarily removing the connection on the tower DVD/CD drive (secondary Master) and connecting the laptop drive there for the data access.
However if you want the DVD/CD drive to burn off data directly then hook the laptop drive as the Primary slave. This would be the grey (middle) plug on the main hard drive cable (ribbon).
