Monitor issues
Yesterday I started having an issue with my pc. The monitor would just go blank and go into power save mode. As if it was showing no video input. The fans and comp would continue to work with no signal being sent to monitor.
I went to Bestbuy and picked up a brand new monitor and the problems continued.
Funny thing is if I hook my monitor directly into the monitor slot on my motherboard everything works correctly and there is no issues.
So does that narrow the problem down to my video card and/or power supply?

Hello, and Welcome to D-A-L.

Well if your monitor works with the onboard display adapter, that would rule out problems with the power supply. Which leaves.......
Time to look for a video card to replace the old one if the onboard display adapter doesn't suit your needs.

I am completely useless when it comes to PCs & my monitor has gone into the 'no input signal' mode. The computer switches on ok. i removed all leads and re-applied as advised by a work colleague but the problem persists. Any ideas? thanks

There are a ton of reasons for this but the main one being that although your problem sounds the same, it will most likely require a different solution.
