Basically, when I turn my PC on it makes all the usual noises,lights come on the monitor comes on, says "Warning PC entering power saving mode" then the monitor turns off and thats it! Anybody got any ideas?

Is that message prior to the Windows (assuming You run it) loading screen or after? What is your comptuer's make and model (if any) and if it's a custom build what is the motherboard?

You say that "then the monitor turns off and thats it!" does it mean that the computer stays on?

Also are you sure that it is the PC that is going to sleep not the monitor?

hi, I'll try to explain a bit clearer. I used to turn on my hard drive and my monitor came on and asked for my password on the administrater bit. Now, i have to turn my monitor on manually and all i see is the message "warning PC now entering power save mode" "green, blue,red" then monitor turns off. The lights on the hard drive stay on. if i press caps lock on keyboard the light doesn't come on. Any idea's?
