    New Fan for Acer Aspire

I am currently looking to upgrade my fan. I don't know much about fans but it is making a lot of noise when booting and also when using high powered programs such as games.

I am not sure if i have to get a new fan cooler or a fan case to reduce the noise?
And also, can i get any fan cooler or fan case or does it have to suit my model which is the Acer Aspire T310.

    Specs:-
    Intel® P4 Processor 3.00 GHz
    1224MB RAM DDR SDRAM
    80GB total hard drive space

Are you referring to the CPU fan?

Have you ever opened the case and cleaned out the dust etc?

Certainly you can replace the CPU heatsink and fan. There are various models to choose from:

You could also try cleaning and very carefully lubricating the exiting fan.

To find a new heatsink/fan you need to ID your precise CPU.

    Try CPU_Z

I don't know which one but the one that makes noise. I am pretty sure it is the fan cooler. The current one i have makes heaps of noise when i boot the computer and also when running high powered programs such as games.

Is this the fan cooler that i have to upgrade because i have seen a few ultra quiet ones which i want. Will any fan cooler fit my computer?

The mounting options depend on the socket type.

Many heatsinks will have multiple options that cover different socket types.

Just make sure the one you get is compatible with your socket type.
