can you connect a hard drive and a dvd drive to the same cable or does there have to be a separate cable for each.
need to know as i am going to buy a new motherboard and there is only 1 ide slot and 2 sata but i still want to use my old hard drive as i have not had it long and i don't want to buy a new dvd drive.

HDD Master / DVD slave (or Cable Select both).

You will also need to reinstall your Operating System.

You will need to phone up Microsoft and they will activate your new board and de-activate your old one.
