    Problem with DVD+RW

Following on from this thread I started in Photo Corner:
    http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread...highlight=JPEG

I tried to load the images on to an Imation DVD+RW disk last night. The computer - OS is XP Home - advised that the disk needed formatting, but used the FileCD format which was no help to me.

A look around the net has got me thinking that my machine might not recognise DVD+RW disks. How can I determine if this is the problem?

What burning software are you using?

XP in itself does not have DVD capabilities.

Bugger! That would explain a great deal...
Incidentally, my DVD writer is a Pioneer DVR-111DBK.

Did not the Pioneer come with a software CD?

Usually they bundle Ulead and Nero.

I don't think it did. I'll go and dig through the box of disks.
If I don't have that, will this do the job?

Seems to be fairly popular freeware.

    Looks like it would work.

So far so good! A test selection of 8 images were burned onto the disk, and I can view them on my comp without any hassles.
Now, to see if it works for Mother...
