Angry Two Problems Graphics card and DVD Drives

Ok so first of all, I recently bought a BFG 7800 GS OC Nvidia Gfx card to upgrade from my old Fx5500 i upgraded my PSU to a 470W to allow for the fitting of this card, so when i installed it updated the drivers launched half life i got better gfx but i also got missing gfx for example on a 'crate' half of the detailing was see through so in essence i had an invisible box and this was the case for lots of things. Also there were lines running across the screen almost like a bit rip in the map in which it was a mixture of colours, so i decided that maybe it was the card and changed it for a 7600 GS and got the same exact problems... Any Ideas would be great.... and also i put the FX5500 back in and it works fine no lines and no invisble boxes

And secondly since i updated too windows vista i can only find one of my DVD drives it doesnt detect both drives again any help is better than non

    Thanks alot in advanced

As to the DVD see if it is listed in the Device Manager:

To access the Device Manager in Vista, go to Start | Control Panel | System and Maintenance | System | Device Manager

If so right click the drive and choose Uninstall then restart the computer.

Vista should re-detect it as New Hardware and load the necessary drivers.

If it is not there check to see if it is listed in the BIOS.

As to graphics did you uninstall your old nVidia drivers?

Did you then install the latest for Vista? A new driver was released a couple weeks ago.

Also do you have the latest updates from Steam?

Errr... yea i unistalled the drivers etc but i dont think i deleted them totaly from the pc as it asked to overwrite some files.... so i am going to do this again and delete the nvidia files,

as for my cd drive its not detecting it anywhere, i messed about with the jumpers afew weeks ago and had it to where the one drive it detected when I right clicked and pressed eject the other one ejected lol :S

    thanks for the reply

***Update i unistalled deleted all the files and still have the problem, i have uploaded two images of unreal 2004 lookin from different angles at a 'tear' one it does not show for some reason and the other is where you can see it***
