Hey i am repairing a X5470 Lexmark printer for a customer and the control panel doesn t seem to work. It either freezes or doesn t come on after a while. When i view inside the printer there is a red light on the encoder disk sensor and at the bottom of the catridge holder.

In looking in the manual for that printer, I see no reference to "encoder disk" or any sensor.

Did you try resetting the printer.

It's in your manual. If you don't have your manual, do what I do and go out to the maker's website and download one.
