i reformatted my pc today cos a system file was corrupt and the cd i got with the pc didnt work so i had to use a windows xp pro CD (my comp used to be windows xp media center edition before i reformatted it) and no my speakers dont work

i looked in device manager but all i see under the sounds bit are codecs, i searched the forum and found a online hardware scan and did that (ill put the results at the bottom of this post) and when i went to control panel>sounds and audio devices it said there are no audio devices connected

i know my speakers are connected and switched on ( i have 2 speakers, 1 set are built into my monitor and i know power is goign ti them cos the monitor is on and im using it, the second set of speakers are external speakers that need to be plugged into the comp and plugged into the mains, i know they are on cos the blue LED is on)

i can hear system errors but the sound from them comes from my actual tower unit not the speakers (by system errors i mean those annoying bleeps when you do something wrong)
