PC Chips M848A motherboard problem
My previous motherboard died, so I replaced it with a PC Chips M848A. It was basically the only Socket A board I could find as I don't have money for a full upgrade right now.
I'm using an Athlon XP 1700+, but when I set the CPU to use the 133Mhz FSB/200Mhz RAM it freezes "Checking NVRAM..." at the POST screen. If I reset it the monitor doesn't power back up and there's no beeps. Turning it off and back on again it hangs at the same spot. I have to reset the CMOS jumper to get it to boot properly afterwards.
I've tried setting the FSB to 132Mhz, it just freezes and ID's the CPU as a 1600+ instead.
If I just use 100Mhz FSB and 200Mhz RAM it POSTs fine (and I was able to reinstall XP and am writing this from it now), but with the 11x multiplier it's only running at 1100Mhz instead of 1466Mhz. The POST screen also says it's an Athlon MP, but CPUID says it has SSE which the Athlon MP didn't if I recall correctly.
The rest of the hardware is as follows:
Athlon XP 1700+
PC Chips M848A
1GB Muskin Value Ram
Geforce 6800GT
using the onboard NIC, sound, etc.
Thanks for any assistance!

Sorry for the delay in reply. You don't mention a version of that board but is this it? (V2.1)
