Hard Drive booting issues
Hi everyone,
Sorry to bother again!
With the PC i've just built, it wouldn't load an Operating System onto my 80GB SATA drive, it kept saying there was a GRUB fault - so i managed to load it onto a spare IDE 40GB drive. Xp now works fine. But, i am looking to add on my SATA drive so that i have more storage space.
Have you guys ever heard of Grub faults? And have you also ever heard of a Mobo always accepting SATA as first boot default, and then IDE afterwards as a secondary drive?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Theres an FAQ on GRUB.....not come across it myself yet.
You need to set the jumpers on both hard drives it shouldn't matter if its SATA or IDE. Which ever you set to master will boot first. Unless you have done this and it still boots up the slave then its just strange
