Okay guys - just two quick questions for you!

a) When a pc starts up, how can you work out what it's trying to tell you by how many times it beeps?

and

b) If, when you try to start a PC, the fans only go around and nothing else happens, what could be wrong with it?

That link is great and has helped lots.

as for b) - there are no beeps.

Remove all the RAM and see if it BEEPS then.

If not you might have a dead motherboard.

This is assuming that the motherboard or case speaker is working.

It's a friend's anyway so it doesn't matter too much if the board is dead!
