So i was using my HP Pavilion laptop earlier today, and suddenly it shut off without notice. I turned it back on, the HP screen was displayed, and then it went directly to this:




Thats as much as I can get it to do. I did manage to run the primary hdd self test, and this was displayed:




I just want to know if there is something I can do to solve the problem, or if my HD is dead, and i need to replace it. This is the second HD ive had in my laptop, as the first one had problems, and was replaced by HP.

If this is the second hdd you went through, then it might b your hdd cable. If your hdd would've crashed, you would hear grindin and clicking noises

could that still be the problem even though this isn't the same problem as last time? HP actually determined that the last hdd had a defect. I've been using this one for about 3 months, and this just suddenly happened.

my laptop was doin the same, and i also had a screen that said hard drive failing. press f1 to ignore. n now it wont work at all.. iv taken it out, n im told there is a way to take ino of it but i dont know how.
