    Question Toshiba Portege M500 ppm50a-073025 ETHERNET PROBLEM

    Hey Guys

    I hope someone can help. I have been looking for weeks to get all th drivers sorted out for this laptop on XP. I have managed to get everything working ecept for the ethernet driver. when i plug an ethernet cable in NOTHING happens, no lights, no connection on the router nothing. There is only wireless and a "1394 net adapter" in my network connections, but no lan connection.

    I have installed various drivers, like the Realtek gigabyte one, intel drivers, all the chipset drivers, and got no where...

    HELP ME PLEASE

    Download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. (Clean FreeWare) Once it's finished loading and running, click on the Report Wizard in the Menu Bar. Save all hardware related pages (the default) to a TEXT file in a location of your choice. (It will default the location to C:\Program Files\Lavalys\EVEREST Home Edition\Reports.)

    Compress (zip) the text file and attach that zip document to your next posting. (When posting, click on Advanced, and just below the posting box you'll see "Additional Options", and within that, "Attach Files". Click on "Manage Attachments" and follow the prompts. Browse to the file and choose UPLOAD.)

    Have you checked the bios to ensure the LAN is enabled?

    I found a listing for M500 on the Canadian Toshiba site, but not the U.S. site. However, your model isn't listed. (ie;PPM50A-xxxxxxx) There are driver download listings for PPM51C-xxxxxxx;
