    dvd+rw install probs

hi guy's ....I've recently installed a dvd+rw what I did was just replace the original cd-rom with the dvd+rw ......

but I'm having a few probs when burning dvd's ......my cpu goes nuts and runs at near enough 100% right through ....obviously this is not good caus I can't use the pc

now I've read through a posts about this problem and keep seeing that maybe my burner isn't the primary optical device and can be set up through bios ??

What burning software are you using?

The designation of Primary and or Secondary and or Master and or slave are all physical options by changing the internal cables and jumpers.

    Check your configuration inside.

    Hard to tell from here.

If all your drives are IDE/ATA and not SATA then your hard drive is the Primary Master. A middle connection on that cable would be Primary slave.

Then (if you do not have SATA) the Secondary Master is usually the main DVD/CD drive. Again there is a middle connection there for a Secondary slave.

There are also "Jumpers" on the rear of all drives to set as Master/slave/or Cable Select.

All that being said on a PC I would let a DVD burn go without any other operation. This is a very extensive process beyond which most PC's were designed for.

Most BIOS use the Delete key.

But everything I mentioned is in the case not in the BIOS.
