    Monitor/Keyboard not responding on bootup

PC had a broken cd drive
replaced it and added 2 other 40 gb hds correctly.

when removing previous cd drive i had to take both sides of the computer out and move the mother board
doing this i forgot to unscrew the graphics card and the card was moved when i was done i put the card back in powered up pc monitor does not do anything stays on amber/yellow (pc was working previous to this day) i tried to seat in all three slots and nothing happens . power supply fan does spin with a very cool breeze

    were you careful with static?

do you get any beeps when the machine starts up?

    have you got onboard graphics?

was the graphics card a PCI or AGP connection?

most machines have a speaker built in to the case for BIOS beeps.

no beeps doesn't sound to good.

    is everything connected properly?

do you get any sound from the machine like a hard drive spinning?

do the CD roms light flash?

Sorry but i have been away for a while

No O/S but it was on windows 98

    Compaq 5070

ive reconnected everything that was on the motherboard and still has this problem.

Just a question Does the cdrom drive flashing and the ability to hear the hd whirring mean that the motherboard is ok and that its some other problem ?

the CD Rom and hard drive are powered by the PSU

are you using the original keyboard?

it's an old machine looking at the spec http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...dlc=en&lang=en
the card in the PCI slot was the modem but if it was fastened in it may have broken the modem or the motherboard.

have you tried without any cards in the slots
