Not sure if this is the correct section for this post. I have a NFORCE4-A939 based system using an AMD 4400+ chip.

A friend recently purchased some high density PC3200 DDR400 RAM (the indvidual chips were labelled Samsung K4H510438D-UCCC). I understand that the important digits are the '04' sixth and seventh digits an '08' woud mean low density.

Anyway, he had some trouble with this RAM so I tried 4GB (four sticks) in my NFORCE4 board and it works perfectly! The machine recognises all 4GB. And now feels like new machine (originally two sticks of 512MB)

I do a lot of intensive 3D CAD and the rendering times are much improved.

The whole experience was great and the cost of the RAM was a bargain (£78 for 4GB). Clearly, doesn't work in all machines but in my board is the bee's knees. Time will tell if the improvement is sustained.
