    Hard Drive Recovery

    Hi.

I have a 160gb hard drive from my old computer which was a Packard Bell Imedia i can't remember the exact model. Anyway i had it for around two years untill it decided to packed up, It would give a continous clicking and the screen would just display a no signal.
I got in touch with a mate who is supposed to be clued up on computer's who took a look at it and tried fitting a new graphics card etc and then come to the conclusion that the problem must be the motherboard, he took the computer away but left the hard drive. After sitting in his house for about two months i have gave up with him and the computer, it's dated now anyway. i have been looking at buying a new one, although i would like to recovery everything on my old hard drive as there is lots of stuff i haven't backed up ie, holiday photo's, CV's, and other files and documents. I am sorry to bore u with the above but i would like to know how is the best way to recovery the info on your hard drive?

    Hi and welcome to D-A-L

what machine have you got now?

you could maybe connect the drive as a slave if poss in your machine and transfer the data off it.

but if it was your hard drive clicking and failing it may be too late

YES contecing it as the slave is one way also using a External Enclosure is another way (conecting hard drives via USB)

However hes right if the hard drive is clicking and failing it may be too late
