    Exclamation Computer Generaly veeeery slow

I don't know what is wrong with my Computer. It worked without a problem while ago. But then suddenly it runs very slow, already when it boots Windows it takes very long. I have scaned the Computer for Viruses with the Kaspersky Antivirus, but I didn't fin any Virus. Due that I don't think that it is Windows I thought I put the Thread here. When I built together my Computer, I had a problem installing the Fan of my Processor, I'm not sur if that could be the Problem but that is why I posted my Problem here . Thanks for every help I get

ok...well need more information on what problems you had with the fan, but i dont think that would have anything to do with the processor. Do you know how to defrag? Also, getting back to your fan, make sure that its directly on the heatsink, otherwise your processor will heat up faster than normal and wont be able to cool down due to the fact that it isnt over the heat sink.

A couple things here. What is the timing of events? That is, when did you build this computer? How long did it work fine? When did it start having problems? Note that a hot CPU will usually cause stability problems (system lockups and reboots) - some CPUs are designed to slow down when hot to prevent damage.

    What are your temperatures?

Jakey is right, we need more information. Tell us about your motherboard/CPU. What version of Windows? Did you use TIM when mounting the HSF?

Note too that system slow downs are typical of spyware infestation. Scanning with an AV is good, but you need to use a full arsenal of tools against malware. I recommend you run though Cleaning Out Malware.

As noted, that was more info than we needed so I took the liberty to make it less cluttered.

You still have not answer all questions. Did you use TIM? Have you run through the suggested anti-malware scans? What are your temps? Is it slow for all applications, including music? Or slow just some of the time?
