    Keyboard dead

Hi all, I wanted to start out by saying hello and a great message board you all have here.

I am having issues with my key board on my desktop unit, 98se, ps2. I was on the net a few hours ago. Everything worked fine, had dinner etc. came back to check my e-mail before bed and the "e" key was causing a wierd box to pop up in aol but some of the other keys were working. In the strange box (a text box, similar to windows notepad), when I hit the "e" key again a "te2" would appear where just the letter "e" was supposed to be. I shut down and restarted the machine several times, ran spyware and antivirus to no avail. Swapped out the KB with another known working unit, but then ended up with no kb response at all even when re-installing the original kb. Shut it down and restarted it agian several times and am re-running antivirus, but with still no luck.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

    Frank-O

Update.... I plugged in a USB keyboard and that works fine, so now I'm guessing that I have issues with the ps2 port or the mother board....

    Hey Frank-O, Welcome to D-A-L

Hmm, I was going to say check the pins on the PS2 keyboards plug but if its doing it with more than one PS2 keyboard then that's not going to help. Does it only affect the "e" key on the original keyboard?
