today i installed 1g of ram into my pc,
after that i turned it on and it randomly freezes
i restart my pc and this happens over and over again, took me three goes to reach and post this.
please help asap as i have a lot of work to do.

today i swapped my 256mb ram for a stick of 1g ram, was easy enough to install,
now when ever i try to play guildwars or open firefox or anything that requires my computer to think my computer just freezes totaly, cant move my mouse or anything,
where do i start to figuring out whats wrong

What is the make and model of the motherboard?

The RAM may not be compatible.

the mobo was ddr
the new stick is ddr
the pins seem to be the same
thats like the limit of my knowledge on theese things :l

What does the package say? For example:

184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)

You could also put your old stick back and run the Crucial scan:

i got the stick of e-bay for cheap and it jus came in like a bag :l
i think i made a mistake there,
is there a program i can run when i have to stick in, that will tell me what it is?
